Singing has always been a passion of mine ever since I was little. I know what you are saying. Gosh, if I could have a quarter for every time a singer used that phrase. I won't lie. Singing hasn't been a passion of mine since I was a wee little lad. I mean yeah I sang karaoke as a child, but could I say it was a passion? No, I was too young to know what passion was. It all started when I entered into high school. Well, actually a couple days before it started but whose counting. My mom decided to force me to sign up for the High School musical at the time which was Aida. So I signed up for an audition slot and didn't get sleep for about two weeks. Which brings me to another topic of: Why Do Teens Think It’s Cool Not To Get Sleep, but I'll tackle that another day. Anyways, I picked a song and went into the audition not knowing what to expect. I and one other freshman made it into the musical as just no name people. I instantly fell in love with the whole Broadway experience. When I was on stage and the music was playing something came over me. I jumped into wherever I was and just lived and breathed the music. During this one number in Aida, I just forgot who I was. Forgot anything I was going through and just became part of the story. The next year I tried out for the musical Les Miserable’s and landed a lead. That year I learned a lot more about the hard work you have to put into it but it still had that rewarding outcome. I still disappeared into the story I love acting (I know I just made you a quarter richer) and singing. You can be someone else. That’s what’s different between pop and Broadway. For pop music you have to be you. You can't disappear into other people because everyone knows a pop singer has to be true to themselves and how can you be true to yourself if you don't want to be you? Broadway music touches people in so many ways, it pulls at your heart strings, makes you laugh, makes you want to be someone else. Something I pride myself on is never performing for the fame. Perform for the love of singing and acting. People like us aren't looking for popularity; we are looking to entertain the audience/viewers and ourselves. We are just looking for help to find these special opportunities. Well, there is a little blurb about me and what I sing /stand for. Sebastian
