Please vote for my River in the Wags contest. It would really be fantastic for him if he won!

River was, as so many have become recently, an abandoned pet. Maybe his owners couldn't afford him, maybe they didn't really care, either way this poor boy was dropped off on the streets of Sacramento and left for dead. He was not microchipped but was fixed and not as agressive as the feral cats he encountered. As a direct result this sweet little cat was attacked and chased on the streets until finally one day, he was rescued, and brought to a no-kill animal shelter. 3 months later a couple walked into the shelter. He got so excited and jumped into their laps and purred and purred until finally falling asleep in the man's lap. He was so scared because the woman had picked up a Siamese and was carrying her around, but lucky for him, there was more than enough room in their hearts for both of them and that day he went home with his new mommy and daddy and adopted sister Simone and life has never been better. River is now thoroughly spoiled and completely content in his new family and so happy that things worked out this way for him, he knows now that his family will never abandon him again, no matter what.

Given River's very sad and rough little life, it would be a fantastic fairy tale ending if the little abandoned cat who no one wanted could win this contest! He is so happy, loving, and adorable, he doesn't know how he could have ever been mistreated, but he does know that this second chance is the greatest thing to ever happen to him and he would love to win and be the poster boy for kitties everywhere! No kitty should ever be abandoned by the ones they love!
